An international panel
L’Orciolo D’Oro is the first professional competition dedicated to Extra Virgin Olive Oil, born in Italy and the oldest in the world.
It takes shape in the second half of the 1980s from an idea of my mother Marta Cartoceti, who bringing together a small group of enthusiasts, producers, restaurateurs and oenologists, it forms an amateur jury.
THE FACES OF OIL
A prestigious photographic project “THE FACES OF OIL”, through which a well-known photographer will portray the face of the patrons of the companies that have won an Award.
An important visual proposal, which, published in the guide, will communicate through the faces, the passion, the sacrifice and the love for their land.
Portraying a face is art as art is the ability to produce and refine a unique and excellent extra virgin olive oil.
“A journey from the ground to the palate”
From the thirty years of Orciolo d’Oro experience, I, Manuela Vigo, together with my husband Vincenzo Federico Petisi have created LODO, an eclectic international guide to the best extra virgin olive oils in the world. The guide introduces the reader to the fascinating world of oil, presenting its praiseworthy and authentic artists in an innovative way but with an eye to tradition.
